The long anticipation for this transit is FINALLY HERE!!!!! For someone who is an Aquarius and with an Aquarius stellium, I will be very happy for Uranus to STOP squaring all those planets. However, I digress, because without the chaotic and surprising changes that Uranus brought my way.. I would not be who I have become today.

My Uranus Transit Story

Uranus first entered Taurus in May 2018, dipped back into Aries, and then moved in for good in March 2019. To give you some personal perspective on how that played out for myself (where Taurus resides in my first house) and opposes my 7th house Pluto, this period of time brought on my divorce! In summer of 2018, I felt off, as if something changed (Uranus) inside me and that I wasn’t living the life I wanted to live. I wanted to be more connected to nature, I was deeply missing Canada, and I felt disconnected from my spirituality. Years of drinking culture in Scotland was starting to become monotonous, and I craved either living out in the highlands or moving back to Canada. While it made its final dip back into Aries, I went through an identity crisis within my marriage. I didn’t know who I was anymore, it felt like it came out of nowhere. In hindsight, I do believe that this time was meant for me to go within and find myself where I was and I do believe I likely would have found my path regardless, however, when you aren’t conscious of how astrology is impacting your chart (which I wasn’t at the time), then it can come in and bring outward changes for you to learn your lessons.

During that period of Uranus finishing up its cycle in Aries, I experienced the worst anxiety I have EVER felt in my life. It was so bad I could barely leave the apartment, I couldn’t sleep, and I later realized this was my spiritual awakening. My marriage began to crumble, I had the lowest self esteem I have ever felt in my life during that time. When Uranus finally moved into Taurus (the sign of Self Worth), I left my marriage. Literally, I look back and it was at that exact time I packed a little bag and went to stay on the couch of a friend I literally met 2 weeks before. That year was a year of me coming back to myself, my needs, my self worth, and my femininity. All Taurus related themes. As time progressed with this transit, I got into 2 relationships (one in which I am still in). The first one I wasn’t ready for, however, this person helped put me on my path — introduced me to the world of natural health and remedies and reconnected me to my love for plants and nature. I spent the summer going treks and hikes and filling my home with plants to nurture (again on Taurus themes). Because Uranus made a T-Square to my Aquarius stellium and my Pluto in 7th house Scorpio, I was confronted with my wounds around power structures, self sabatage, and trust issues in relationships. I then moved to Vancouver Island, where I ended up working on an organic veggie farm (again doesn’t get more Taurus than that!!), falling in love with plant medicine, and going to school for herbalism. On this farm I met my current partner, and now conscious of my astrological patterns, chose to work through the plutonian fears of relationship that I was being challenged to confront with this Uranus transit.

I can whole heartedly say, I am not the same person I was AT ALL before Uranus moved into Taurus. I have learned more about what my needs are, the importance of taking care of my body and health, prioritizing my needs for nature, and became aware of my Plutonian shadow self in relationships that I used to project outward. I became aware that I needed to learn how to balance my needs vs anothers.

Fixed signs are incredibly resistant to change and struggle to let go of control. So having this transit make a T-Square within all the fixed signs in my chart, I can strongly say I am happy that Uranus will be in an easier sign over the next few years. However, Pluto will remain in Aquarius (fixed sign) for a longggggg time, so although the chaotic surprises of Uranus won’t be as intense, Pluto will still bring cathartic endings.

So, lets recap the changes Uranus has brought to Taurus themes in our lives and in the greater world (because damn did it change things):

• Most obvious? People going back to simpler ways of living. Tiny houses and off grid homes were trending, people wanting to move away from cities and live off the land. Things like baking sourdough bread, making kombucha, and becoming more health conscious were all things Taurus related.
• Body positivity movement — where before this transit people were hyper focussed on being skinny, it became the trend to embrace the body you have.
• Plastic Surgery — in contrast to that, we saw the rise in plastic surgery and botox. Where even those in their 20s started getting it done. This points more towards the more toxic side of Taurus and its relationship to beauty. People started becoming obsessed with piling make-up and putting filters on their face to present a “beautiful look” to the world.
• Cryptocurrency and digital currency — although this started around 2009, it really became talked about and popular around the time Uranus moved into Taurus. Uranus (planet of change) represents technology and forward thinking, where Taurus represents the financial system. So deep changes were and are still taking place to our financial system, and will likely not be the same again.
• Farmers protests — Uranus represents rebellion of the collective and Taurus represents agriculture, food, and farming. During this time we saw MASSIVE protests all around the world due to government overreach on farming. We also saw futuristic changes being made to our food system, like lab grown meat and GMOS being in almost everything.
• Relationships — the amount of changes that happened in peoples relationships was insane. People breaking up left right and centre and diving into their relationship dynamics so they can change them. Taurus is ruled by Venus — planet of relationships. People were breaking things off with their romantic other but also family members and friends that weren’t able to meet their needs (Taurus). This period of time we will later look back on as the era of “self love”. Self love books were everywhere, it was the trend and all people talked about. People were wanting to heal their relationships with themselves.
• Me Too Movement. This one was huge. It started a bit earlier than when Uranus officially moved into Taurus, but I believe it bridged the Aries transit into the Taurus transit (as Aries is self defence and Taurus is the feminine). Womanbegan to rise and gain more power over media, workplaces, and governments. It really brought the movement to a peak, but then also showed the shadow sides of higher amounts of narcissism becoming present as well. Hopefully now with Uranus leaving, it will go back to balance with the lessons learned about feminine power in a more balanced way.
• Feminine movement in general — Females really came together in this transit. Womans circles became popular, diving into the sacred feminine were trending themes, movements like “slow movement” or “slow culture” became the norm. Hustle culture didn’t seem as appealing anymore to females, and many were forced to slow down due to burnout.
• This one is at the end, because it almost blends the transit between Taurus and Gemini, and was happening heavily with Uranus at 29 degrees Taurus. Data centres. If we were to get any glimpse into what Uranus is targetting when it moves into Gemini is the rise of Data Centers. And while it was at 29 degrees, there were protests happening all over North America about these Data Centres that are being pushed forward in communities that don’t want them and talked about for the detrimental impact it will have on the environment (Taurus). These data centres are absolutely an energetic play out of Uranus in Gemini — Uranus being technology and networking, while Gemini is about networking and communication. Both are quick in nature, Uranus is sudden change and Gemini is thoughts, words, and overall communications. Unfortunately, these data centres will happen whether we like them or not.

Now, where are we going? Uranus leaving Taurus and moving into Gemini is a COMPLETELY different energy. Where Taurus is focussed on being grounded, stable, slow, intentional, and beautiful — Gemini is quick, about the mind and intellect, conversations, networking, movement and travel, information, and the famous “split personality” due to the representation of “the twins”.

It is for that reason, I believe we are going into “the split”. Many astrologers predict some form of civil war or social disruption during this transit. Where the revolution was happening over our resources and environment the past 7 years, it will now be over how we relate socially together and over our information sources. We have already seen the preemptive start to this split — left vs right, citizen vs immigrant, gender vs gender, old ways vs new ways.. I mean the list goes on. There will also be the split in who move towards technological evolution and who avoids it and gets left behind. There will be those who want to get out of the city and to the land to live that style of life and those who move towards it in the cities and adapts to the quick technological changes that are coming. And because humans are afraid of what they don’t understand, this polarization will likely begin to build. Expect PLENTY of “mini” wars (be it actual wars or disruptions) happening all over the world that are based on different information sources and ideas of where the world needs to move towards. Everyone is going to think “they know the answer”. It is a classic Gemini trait to think you may know it all, but remember, our information sources have been split into thousands of algorithms– and that perhaps your belief or thoughts aren’t even coming from you.

Now if that doesn’t scare you lol, lets go into some of the areas we will likely see major change and shifts in:

• Most obvious? Everything is moving online baby. You can’t stop it, this energy is TOO quick to be stopped.. in fact it has already happened. We need a phone for everything, our bank accounts are slowly being moved fully to digital currency without our consent, cash will become more obsolete, information will come from online sources, soon even drones will be delivering your packages (I’m not kidding, its coming)
• Transportation: We are going to see a HUGE change in this area, and honestly it is kind of exciting to see what comes of it. Self driving cars are already on the road but likely will replace uber drivers. There will be projects of creating quicker forms of transportation in cities or even across countries. Air travel is likely going to go through a huge change. Space travel will likely become more prevalent and even commercial (uge). I suspect underground tunnels will be utilized to create underground highways in cities. It is going to get weird guys.
• Expect even more protests and social uprising. Cities will be danger zones as there will be a lot of social unrest. I spoke mostly about this above though.
• Those stupid meta glasses, yeah your going to be seeing people wear them around soon. I feel like the cell phone is dying out and it will get even more advanced. Likely starting with AI glasses that connect you to online, but later moving to brain chips (I mean it is already happening lol)
• How we communicate will change entirely. Likely even more online (uge). Businesses will likely hold their meetings in avatar like groups (some businesses are already doing that). Work from home WILL be a thing.. all the companies that are trying to avoid it are fighting against the current.
• Space travel is going to get ultra advanced. I feel they are going to make major strides in this area, but I feel people are also going to become excited about it.
• A lot of the people that moved to homesteads and off grid camps are going to move back to cities or integrate back into society. It was the trend of the Uranus in Taurus, and those who followed trends will follow this next one. Not to call anybody out, it will affect all of us in some way as we were all influenced by that Taurus energy, and many of us will be more open to technology than we were before. But the really fake people will flip entirely to being back in condos and back into tech world.
• Our information is going to get SO confusing. It no longer will feel like there is just one perspective like how we have been experiencing it for literally all of human time. The news and old tv will be entirely wiped out at some point. We are going to have to learn to be very discerning on our information. In a way this is good, because mainstream news got completely hijacked and was brainwashing everyone with one perspective. So our minds will actually open up to more perspectives and be able to hold more nuance, but that will create confusion and chaos as well.
• Sadly, those that refuse to learn or adapt to technology, they will struggle. And I am someone who has really pushed it off for yearsssss so this really impacts me. But it will be SO hard to live in the world without actually having your own land set up to be off grid, for those that do — they may get by!! But to be in this system right now, you can’t escape the integration that they will force upon us. The best I can say is learn what you have to learn but be conscious and don’t get sucked in.

This all sounds very depressing, because a lot of it sort of is.. but maybe that is because it is a death or a tower card. The old world we knew is dead, and the past couple years have been us grieving what is dying. However, something new is being born, and with newness is possibilities. Remember that majority of us are all in the same boat, we are all unsure, scared, and confused at what the future brings — so don’t take it out on each other. As time moves on, we will begin to see more of what this transit will bring us. There will be good, no doubt, and there will be bad. That is the duality of Gemini. But the good thing about going through such social upheaval, is that eventually we will create unity through battle.
