RECAP

Welcome back to another monthly astrology report guys! This month, we are moving into Leo season — although, I feel this Leo season will feel very different than other ones.

We are currently moving through another portal —from the nostalgic, emotional, and uncomfortable realm of Cancer season and the mercury retrograde that finally ends today as I write this, to finally being able to embrace the Jupiter in Leo transit that has been suppressed with this Cancerian energy. The energy shifts from cautious, security focussed, and home body energy of Cancer, and into passionate, creative, expressive, and confident Leo energy.

The past month was a HARD one. That is all I heard from so many people. Security, foundation, and past emotional wounds were likely resurfacing for many people throughout the month. Where we started it being cautiously optimistic — feeling some refreshing momentum, that quickly faded into revisiting the drawing board of some kind. Mercury went retrograde on the Capricorn full moon on June 29th. What is interesting, is that on the same day it went retrograde, it made a conjunction with Jupiter in Cancer (the day before it made its transit into Leo). I feel like this was almost a necessary house cleanup before moving into the world in the way we want to be seen, while feeling aligned with who we truly are. We were being asked to grieve the comforts of what we knew of the world we grew up in, and what it is becoming. Of revisiting past memories from the past that haven’t been emotionally processed or felt. That conjunction almost blew up all the emotions from the past at once — leaving you overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated that perhaps you felt as though emotionally you were moving backwards. The planet Mercury loves to move fast, it is quick like air. So when it get bugged down and has to move through emotion, ancestral roots, sensitivities, and depth — it makes this retrograde feel even slower than normal. It was as if Jupiter said “Hey Mercury, I am about to leave this emotionally intuitive and sensitive sign to finally expand my creative self back into the world! But first, you must clean up that leftover emotional debris that this person spiritually bypassed and make them feel it!” Our roots needed this last little tending to, as if it is a contraction before a huge and sudden expansion that we have all felt underneath the surface.

Uranus Conjunct Mars on July 4th

Lets discuss the Uranus conjunct Mars day. Luckily, this conjunction didn’t get as violent as many Astrologers feared (as it had the potential to be). However, it was violent through the weather. In true Uranian fashion, sudden and severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, as well as extreme heat waves, were happening all over the Midwest and Mid Canada. Uranus rules storms and especially lightning/thunder/tornadoes, while Mars rules sudden, violent, extreme, and fire (heat). Not to mention, it was the 4th of July 250th year celebration in the states, where this weather impacted many of the independence day celebrations and contributed to the cancellation of the Washington D.C. parade. As conjunctions are seeds being formed between those two planets and the sign they are in, it will be interesting to see what becomes of the States while Uranus makes its 7 year long transit through Gemini. Very symbolic of this conjunction happening on the same day as their 250th year and how it manifested in chaos and cancelled celebrations. A time that should bring everyone together, was getting disrupted. This leads me pondering on how historically Uranus in Gemini brings civil unrest and a split — commonly leading to civil wars. Tune into yourself and your own life, do you feel the split happening within our societies?

The New Moon in Cancer

This really brought the heaviness of unprocessed emotions to another level. The energy in the air was incredibly heavy, while at this same time later leading to a  cathartic feeling. In the midst of it, it felt like we were being brought into the depths of our undealt with childhood feelings — with nowhere to go but feel them. But as the days passed on, we started to feel lighter, hopeful, and things looked brighter.

We then moved into Barbaults basket territory that we are still in. You know, the famous alignments every astrologer and their entourage is talking about. Although there is a lot more too these alignments than social media accounts are saying, it still is an undeniable larger than ourselves feeling that things are speeding up again and changing. During the 15th of July and even into now, there is a strange optimism in the air, while simultaneously a restless and anxious “what next” feeling. We are at the peak of this year with these alignments, and likely you are seeing somewhat of a path unfolding a little more in-front of you. Whatever you have been investing into, is likely starting to make a bit more sense — even if you can’t define it yet.

Jupiter in Leo opposing Aquarius

Something I have felt a shift in, is that Jupiter in Leo opposing Pluto in Aquarius. I am seeing it play out in some strange ways and also in some beautiful ways. For those who maybe have struggled with putting themselves out there in terms of letting their face be seen on camera for their business, I have seen many people since this transit happened putting themselves out there more for their business. However, it is in ways that are authentic to them (Pluto in Aquarius)— and they will likely find the success they are seeking from being themselves and doing that. On the stranger side, I have seen peoples ego’s inflate, and it backfiring on them pretty quickly with the collective. I have mentioned in a few articles that I feel this Jupiter in Leo year long transit will bring ego deaths to those who have been flying too close to the Sun, but also bringing confidence and unique creativity to those who have maybe needed the boost.

Leo Season

A quick description on Leo, as I have many old articles that go much further into this sign, is that Leo is the sign ruled by the Sun. It blinds you, it cannot go unnoticed, and this is an incredibly expressive sign. Leo is the sign that represents acting and Hollywood in general, as it is known to be dramatic, theatrical, and playful — but also, can lean towards narcissism, vanity, and self obsession. Leo is the 2nd of the fire signs — making it the “fixed” fire sign. What does that mean? Well fixed signs happen in the middle of a season, so their energy can be quite fixated in regards to what element they are in. Fixed signs do not like being tested or forced to change how they act or believe in. In terms of fire, where Aries (the 1st fire sign) is all about impulsive, initiation, action, and challenge — Leo, has all its fire shining bright with nowhere to go but all around them. They bring their passionate energy wherever they go, and are the ones to turn heads when they walk in the room. They may feel they need all eyes on them. If, a Leo doesn’t have many planets in their sign, or some struggling aspects, they could really struggle internally with getting that inside passion to be recognized on the outside.

Leo is ruled by the Lion, ruler of the jungle and animal kingdom, and with the mane of the Sun around its face. It represents courage to be ones self and put ones self out there for the world to see. It also represents strength, to keep enduring through their heroes journey of life. Many Leos are born being innate performers or being those who are happy in the spotlight. They get the attention easier than some of the other signs. However, that can also lead to vanity over time if it is not integrated or there has been no challenge to overcome. It is common for Leos to go through some sort of ego test or hardship in order to become more conscious of their Sun shining selves and use it for good. The Sun represents the hero journey in astrology. The hero journey is that of coming into strength by not just the innate skills, but by being challenged by the darkness and overcoming it. The Sun is constantly fighting a war against the dark, as we know that the light is the only thing that can expose the darkness. It is of course quite interesting, that the planet that challenges the Sun the most, is Pluto (also Saturn). Pluto, being ruled by the hands of fate, doesn’t care if you are the star of the show. If, it finds you are flying too close to the Sun and have not integrated the depths of your shadow, can bring death and misfortune to your life or your dreams in a total catastrophic way. With Jupiter (the planet of expansion, luck, fortune, and optimism in Leo (the sign of passion, creativity, and confidence), we can easily see that this combination could inflate an already unconscious and large ego. Pluto doesn’t like those who try to cheat their fate, or think they can outsmart it. So with Jupiter making opposition to Pluto in Aquarius (the collective), we can expect to see the ego deaths of many inflated ego personalities over the next year. Throw in that the South Node (what we as society are letting go of), is now in Leo, it will now become a constant need to balance individual confidence vs how that is affecting and contributing to the collective. We aren’t necessarily meant to let go of our individualism, especially with Jupiter moving through Leo for over a year. But we are meant to find out own unique identity again, believe in it, and express it with creativity in a way that benefits society as whole.

This month, expect big personalities to be centre stage. Especially those with many Leo placements in their natal chart. This will likely be the seeds being planted for the year to come with what benefits Jupiter is going to bring to this sign, but also what ego deaths will be happening simultaneously. We have eclipse season around the corner, and it will be finally the first one where the nodes are actually in the Aquarius and Leo axis. I feel that the ones that really leaned into what the nodes were trying to teach us during the North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo — will understand the next communal mission. The last year and a half we were being encouraged to let go of perfectionism, of needing to over-analyze ourselves and the world, and instead, lean into trusting that the source will take us where we need to go. A lot of people who have trouble trusting to go with the flow and with their intuition, were the ones who were majorly challenged with needing to let go of expectations and control to move forward. Now, we will face the challenge of leaning into the collective with creative ideas, while needing to let go of our individual egos. A challenge but also incredibly needed in the current times we are in. Oh, how the astrological energy is always guiding the way.

Big Events this month:

Today (July 23) — Mercury goes direct in Cancer!!

• DAMN, as I mentioned above.. what a hard retrograde that was. But instantly, as we kick off a brighter and more fun Leo season, our minds and communication get more clear. Expect to finally understand why Mercury took you to those emotional past memories or dreams, and why it was asking you to process them. This will be the post shadow period that lasts until the first couple days of August. So don’t expect to understand them right away, allow this period of time to unfold naturally.

July 26 — The nodes switch into Aquarius and Leo

• We have been hovering on the 0 degree mark of Pisces for awhile now, meaning the collective direction has been in the abyss, being asked to just trust the process entirely. Many have felt incredibly foggy with direction and where they are heading during this time and especially when Mercury was retrograde. Now, it will enter into the 29th degree of Aquarius and Leo, where it is clear — we are going to feel pulled by the collective to initiate this next chapter and where we are heading together. Expect MANY of the conversations that happen over this year and half transit to be about collectivism vs individualism. This will likely manifest as capitalism vs socialism argument. It will likely transfigure into those who are for immigration and against immigration. As we know, with Uranus in Gemini for the next 7 or so years, we will have to expect to see the societal split — and will likely take place in these sort of ways. Remember there are shadows to both Leo and Aquarius, going too far in one direction is normally not a very good thing. Aquarius can become totalitarian of their view of how to create equality for society — losing themselves to the very thing they hate (becoming a narcissistic leader that can only see their vision), while Leo has the shadow of only seeing things for themselves and not caring about the collective at all. This season will really kick off what these nodes are going to be bringing in with this upcoming eclipse season.

July 26 — on this same day, Saturn goes retrograde.

• Where it has been working collectively, it will start working more internally. What responsibilities in yourself have you been avoiding? If so, you will feel the Saturnian pressure to grow up in that area of life where Saturn is currently transitting in your personal chart. Example: if it is making a transit through your 6th house Aries, if you haven’t been working on your own health and routine, you may see some issues come back at you in that area. Remember, Saturn is the sandpaper planet, and it will sandpaper you into discipline whether you like it or not. Better to work with the grain than against it.

July 29th — Sun/Jupiter cazimi in Leo happening on the Full Moon in Aquarius and still opposing Pluto in Aquarius.

• People are going to feel incredibly expansive on this day. Expect social media to be flooded with people posting their videos and advertising themselves, people sharing their life stories, and basically people wanting a little bit of the spotlight for themselves. Not only that, but Mars in Gemini will make an exact square to Venus in Virgo on this day. So Venus (planet of relationships and personal peace), which is already stressed out in analytical, nit-picking, and perfectionist obsessed Virgo, will be combatting aggressive and fiery Mars in the communication ruled sign of Gemini. Arguments will likely take place this day, and with impulsive Mars in a communicative sign of Gemini — words will be quick. Virgo has the tendency to overthink and constantly want improvements, if there have been issues in your relationships with others that have not been communicated properly, then expect judgemental and harsh words to be carried out to each other. So I highly recommend working on what it is your wanting to improve in those relationships before hand and communicating them softly while the energy isn’t so potent on this day. Don’t get so hyper fixated on your partner and what needs to be fixed instead of appreciating what you have. But also, don’t ignore what you feel needs fixed otherwise it will likely come out in explosive language on or leading up to this day.

August 9th — Mercury moves into Leo.

• Our communication with others become more fun, playful, and creative. However, it will first make an opposition to Pluto, so beware of hidden information coming to the surface (or light) — especially regarding the collective. But also it will include your own shadows or parts of yourself that have been buried will come to the mind to be thought about.

August 12 — New Moon in Leo and total solar eclipse.

• I will make separate posts about both the full moon and new moon this month, however, I will note this New Moon seems SOOOO potent. There are MANY harmonious alignments, but also some notable challenges (as always). It feels like it will be the seeding point of a new identity of some sort. A new way you are expressing yourself and your creativity. I feel that this will be the turning point of some of the creative blocks many of us have been having. And all that we have reviewed upon for the first half of the year, will start finally getting put into practise.

Where are the personal planets at this month?

Mars — Gemini

• still making its way through quick minded, information obsessed, and scatter brained Gemini. Changes are happening quickly and technology is getting more advanced by each day. With Mercury now direct (Geminis ruling planet), expect your plans to finally move forward and quickly. Communication channels will open up. And that time period you spent reviewing and reassessing your direction, will allow you to make those updates or changes you need.

Venus — Virgo then Libra

• is still in Virgo (UGE) but will move into a more favourable sign for Venus in Libra (as Venus rules Libra). Relationship energy will change from nitpicking and micromanaging or overthinking, to trying to find harmony, balance, and pull resources. Honestly, this Venus transit is REALLY going to anchor in the energies from eclipse season coming up here, as Venus will be making harmonious alignments to the outer planets during that time. So hopefully, whatever surprising energy comes from the eclipse, will be integrated and balanced within your partnerships — or at least you’ll find some way to create a good flow or necessary conversations.

Mercury — starts off Leo season going direct in Cancer —-

• so still really integrating some heavier emotions from the month before, but in a more clear and directive way. However, it will move into Leo on August 9th, and be making a lovely sextile to Venus and harmonious trines and sextiles to the collective planets on this upcoming New Moon in Leo (total solar eclipse)

Health and Wellness:

Leo rules the heart and peripheral cardiovascular system (the overall pumping and distribution of blood). It is common for Leos to tend towards high blood pressure — especially if they are not finding ways to cool down. It is important for Leos to express themselves creatively through the heart, otherwise it gets pent up and again can lead to cardiovascular issues.

Herbs:

Motherwort (the ultimate Leo herb) — Known as LEOnarus CARDIACa in latin, which translates to “the lion hearted”, it is the ultimate herb for cultivating more Leo energy internally, but also treating Leo disorders of high blood pressure and excitation in the body. Motherwort is a heart tonic in herbal medicine, helping to reduce blood pressure, and help immensely with heart palpitations. It also helps to reduce heightened anxiety or stress, support good blood flow, and overall make us feel safe and taken care of. It can help energetically to install courage in the heart chakra, protecting heart related boundaries, while also leading from the heart itself. It can be identified by the leaves, which look like the end of a lions tail. The leaves are soft, as if a mother is cradling you into her arms.

Hawthorn (the berries) — Right around this time, Hawthorn berries start to form on Black Hawthorn trees (depending on which area you live). With others starting to slowly form but coming into full ripeness in more Sept/Oct time. While the flowers and leaves are also incredibly medicinal, the berries focus more on the structure of the heart. Where Leos tend to over-function in areas of the heart (spiritually and physically), Hawthorn berries cool the system down, calm it, hold it, and create the structure for blood to flow harmoniously. Instead of focussing on improving peripheral blood circulation like the flowers and leaves, the berries focus more on lowering blood pressure and reducing cholesterol (all issues heavy Leo placements may tend towards). Over time and consistency, they can help to repair and strengthen damaged blood vessel walls.

Lifestyle:

BE CREATIVE!! This is the time to let your heart lead you creatively and passionately in the direction you want to go. Get outside, enjoy summer to the last of your ability, and socialize! You will feel much more confident this Leo season, so use that to your advantage! If you have been blocked creatively, the energy should move more towards your favour. If you have been scared of putting yourself into the spotlight, now is a chance to do so with more ease. By leaning into this energy, your body will move in a great flow. Make sure to stay active, but also, make sure to cool down while doing so. It can be easier to overheat during this season or to feel burnt out. Not just because it is Leo season (although that is a factor), but because we will likely be trying to fit everything we haven’t done this summer into one month and taking in as much Sun as possible. Berries are a GREAT thing to be eating at this time. They are pumped with antioxidants and help to cool down the system while highly hydrating you as well. Also remember that not only are you likely to feel more fiery and passionate this month, but the wasps are too!! A little trick I learned at a restaurant, is to put dried cloves in a dish beside where you are sitting outside — as the wasps do not like the scent.
