Full Moon in Capricorn June 29/26 – Lets get serious for a minute

This Full Moon makes aspects to:

  • T-square (friction) with both Neptune and loosely Saturn in Aries
  • Sun in Cancer making inconjunct (awkward alignment) to Pluto in Aquarius
  • Moon in Capricorn making inconjunct (awkward alignment) to Uranus in Gemini

—> Friction between our ambition and material security, our will and identity, and our emotional security/comfort

—> What makes us feel comfortable emotionally (emotional needs) may conflict with the transformation taking place in the overall collective. This checks out, considering that deep and immense transformations happening with our societal structure. We may not feel “at home” in the new world being created, and this causes emotional discomfort.

—> We may want to be tucked away at home, but this full moon brings out responsibilities that we would maybe rather not tend to at this time.  It feels hard to create structure and order in our lives when the ground beneath our feet is consistently changing. We all have that feeling of when the next rug will be pulled out from under our feet. Especially work-wise. As Capricorn is the sign that rules career in astrology. So this moon in Capricorn making an awkward alignment with Uranus (the unpredictable shit disturber), sudden changes may take place in the realm of our work or what we are building towards. What comes up will likely become more intense in the coming days when Mars (the conflict warrior) makes a conjunction with Uranus in Gemini (for the first time in our lifetime).

Other Aspects or planetary movements happening in the background (not all of them, but notable ones):

  • Mercury has officially gone retrograde in Cancer today, while also making a conjunction with Jupiter in Cancer (a day before Jupiter moves into Leo). Jupiter has been in Cancer for an entire year, and it has brought a lot of emotions alongside it. I will be posting an article on this exact transit tomorrow, but in summary, this transit was actually harder than many people expected it to be. It brought up themes and areas in our life where we had to address our emotional needs and emotional past wounds. Emotions may be trying to come up to the surface today, yet, we may feel like we don’t have time or energy to deal with them. We may be trying to just dealing with it stoically in Capricorn fashion. But as Mercury continues it’s retrograde journey — we will have to process them. Whatever is brought up is likely what came up for you in the Cancer full moon that happened back in early January
  • Venus in Leo is making a lovely trine to Saturn in Aries –> Helping to bring structure to our relationships and finances. We may be able to know what we need to do, whether making financial plans or figuring out a way to put our needs first in relationships, while also respecting anothers’ needs.
  • Mars just recently entered Gemini — so where we may have felt a little slowed down energy wise, that will shift for us. Gemini is fast and quick minded, where Mars is impulsive and headstrong. With Mars making a day by day closer conjunction to Uranus, expect chaos within the nervous system and communication (especially with Mercury now retrograde). Arguments can quickly escalate, especially with Mercury being in Cancer (emotions). Emotional reactions to our sensitivities may come quicker. Watch your words is all I will say, as this just breeds verbal conflicts.

Capricorn/Cancer Polarity

The polarity between Cancer and Capricorn is quite stark actually. I always think of it like traditional Mom + Dad. Cancer being the homebody mother who nurtures everyone around her, while also being emotionally sensitive. Capricorn being the stern and stoic father who works endless hours to provide. Cancer is the mother who stays home, while Capricorn is the father who is away from the home. Of course in modern times, this isn’t as relevant — but, there still exists the polarity of opposites. Where Cancer puts everyones emotional needs at the top of their list, Capricorn puts order and structure on top of its list. Cancer is happy being in the home, while Capricorn wants to climb the social or work ladder.

It is for this reason, that the polarity of this full moon can be quite awkward to navigate. We just came out of busy Gemini season, where we may have burnt out our social battery. We now have a craving to nest a little more at home and look for emotional fulfillment, however, Capricorn energy brings our responsibilities to the forefront. With Venus square Saturn, this could look like looking at our finances and figuring out how to organize them. If we have been over-working, we may need to look at ways in how to emotionally nurture ourselves a bit better so that we can move back into balance. Capricorn is always the top of the chart, the life path you set out to fulfill, where Cancer, is the bottom half of the chart and the roots and foundation that can support that life. If your emotional foundation isn’t solid, then your life could feel void or empty. This is a chance to see what part of yourself needs restructuring. Is it your emotional foundation, or do you need to leave the comfort of the nest behind?

Health and Wellness:

Capricorn rules the skeletal structure of the body, skin, and joints. The skin is the boundary that we have against the world, which coincides with Capricorns need for strong boundaries. Capricorn has a relation to old age, and so in medical astrology it is associated with bones (including teeth) and joints. You may feel a bit more creaky or sore than usual. If knee issues are a thing for you, this may flare up at this time. When you think of Capricorn, this is a sign that is very stoic, but also can lean towards rigidity. Your shoulders may feel tense, and tension may be throughout your body.

Recommendations:

  • Deep breathing and light yoga postures. Move tension through the body so that it can release. Capricorn energy tends to hold the world on its back, so relax the shoulders.
  • Lean into the structure this full moon provides. You will likely feel more tense if you are ignoring your responsibilities, so tend to them. It may not feel joyful or fun, but it will be productive.
  • Get lots of rest. Capricorn tends to over-work, so make sure your body and mind are getting the rest it needs to keep up with any extra work you have to get done.
  • Herbs: Horsetail is my favourite herb to work with for skeletal structure! It contains tons of essential minerals for the body, while also tightening and toning the joints, supporting connective tissues, skin, and hair strength. It is a great herb to turn to when you feel like your losing structure in your life.

Questions to ponder:

What responsibilities in my life need tending to that I may have been ignoring?

What boundaries can I create to help reduce tension in my life?

What areas in my life am I overworking in? Can I nurture myself better in these areas? Are there others I can turn to that can help nourish me through this period?

What has been worked through since January this year? Have you fully emotionally processed what you have been through?
