Hi folks! We are about a week into Taurus season now, so a little bit late with this — but alas that is life! First, I want to say congratulations!! You survived Aries season of 2026, which was jam packed with overly intense energy. As we continue through Taurus season, the power struggles and conflicts will hopefully start to simmer down as we focus on Taurus energies.
What is Taurus energy? Taurus is the first earth sign and second sign of the zodiac. As we started the zodiac year with Aries the ram — passionate and full of zest, we now move into our earthly element where we want to connect to our physical surroundings, our bodies, our gardens, relationships, and beauty. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus — the planet of love, peace, beauty, finances, and nourishment. It is symbolized by the bull — heavy, grounded, used in farming, but can be dangerous when challenged out of its regular routine. Taurus is a fixed sign, which means it comes in the middle of a season. This means Taurus does NOT like change, and in fact, is constantly embodying and seeking stability. Where Aries season comes in hot and overwhelming, Taurus is the antidote to just stay still, relax, and connect back to our senses. Taurus is the sign to look to in regards to your personal values and self worth as it rules our bodies and how we connect to self love. In order to live a life of peace and harmony, within ourselves and relationships, we need to cultivate a strong connection to what our body needs and enjoys.
On a macro scale, Taurus represents the financial system, diplomatic relationships, the food system (especially cattle!), the beauty industry, the land and environment, and femininity — so expect to see themes amongst these topics this month. With the planet Mars and Mercury still working its way through Aries, there is likely to be disruption to relationships and arguments still to be had (in other words, we aren’t out of the wood works yet.. but are we ever!?). Because of this, expect to see disruptions in regards to the the systems I just listed above, and with the recent major transit of Uranus into Gemini, expect the technological rollout to be changing these areas.
First, lets recap some major stories we saw during Aries season last month:
- The Middle East conflict – The war in Iran escalates, and because of the Straight of Hormuz, oil prices surge worldwide
- Nasas Artemis 2 – Made a mission to the dark side of the moon and apparently was the furthest human travel from Earth (although I don’t necessarily believe that)
- There was a surprise election result in Hungary which a new opposition leader, ending the 16 year rule of the current one (Hungary has been ruled by right wing government for ages, and now is run by a more leftist government)
- Because of the war in Iran, the US had to release oil from its Strategic Oil Reserve
- There was a deadly stampede that took place in Haiti which left dozens dead
- The civil war in Sudan intensified
- Major protests happening around North America with Data Centres being built (many without citizins consent)
- There were peace talks about the issue in Iran, but the second round of peace talks hit a stalemate (once we entered Taurus season last week) (again with the mercury and mars in Aries disrupting Taurus ruled relationships)
- Major US south east drought and fires that were deemed “the worst drought on record”
- In Buenos Aires, there was a major fire that broke out at the Buenos Aires Stadium during a game
- Israels airstrikes on Irans South Pars gas field (the worlds largest oil reserve), triggered massive refinery fires and explosives. In addition, Ukraines drones Russias Tuapse oil refinery which burned for several days.
As you can tell, Aries season came in with a BLAZE. Conflicts roared, fires burned, and attacks on oil seemed to be a huge theme of last month. We will likely see more of the impact of these refinery fires continue into Taurus season as Taurus rules all things natural resources that are related to global wealth. In addition, Aries season was happening while Uranus (the revolutionary and disrupting planet) was finishing up its final degrees of its 7 year transit in Taurus. So many of the conflicts that have taken place were the final surprises Uranus had in store before it finally moved into Gemini a few days ago. (To read more on that look at my latest post).
Below I will highlight the themes of this month with the planetary positions and major transits that are taking place:
Uranus moved into Gemini (April 25th)
This is the biggest transit of the year! I’d say even more so than Neptune and Saturns move into Aries. Why? Because Uranus and Gemini work quick and in synergy together. The friction that we all experienced with Uranus moving through Taurus since 2019 will finally ease. All the disruptions to our comfort and stability has prepared us for being open to the unrelenting change that this transit will bring us for the next years to come. For the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius), you will feel it the most! That tension you have felt for so long will finally ease and will open to much more flow. On a whole, we will in information overload for years to come. It is too early to predict what this transit will bring, as with Uranus it is impossible to predict (as it is the planet of surprises), but we do not there will be technological advancements to our communication sector, social connections, space travel, transportation, education, and inner most communities. To read more about that (and its connection to these data AI centers, please read my latest transit post for the Uranus in Gemini).
Mars in Aries (until May 18th):
Mars energy is strong right now, as it is in its own sign of Aries. This means that fiery Aries energy we all just went through is still lingering around. Our actions are focussed on our own self and we may be more impulsive with our speech (as Mercury, planet of communication is also in Aries). The overall energy is making us feel like we want to stabilize and be present, but we have this underlying angst in us that can’t quite settle the way we normally would during this time of year. However, we have the momentum to continue to make the changes we want to see with our year ahead and the follow through to make it happen.
Venus (Taurus ruling planet) in Gemini (until May 18th) (same day Mars changes signs):
There is likely a shift from connecting to your partner to connecting through dialogue and communication. Lots of talk about the future and what needs to get done to make that happen. Rather than connecting through the body as the energy has been, it has shifted to needing to talk everything out. With Mars and Mercury being in Aries, it is hard to hold back everything you are thinking and the energy may be more conflict prone. We have gone through many energetic shifts this year already, so use this time to get out what needs to be said and make a strategy on how to move forward with it. The positive to this, is that it is very adaptable energy, so resolutions can be found through dialogue. Lean into the Taurus energy to help ground it, remember to eat well, go outside in nature, and practise self care through this time.
Full moon in Scorpio (May 1st):
I will do a separate explanation of this Full Moon and the transits that are being made. However, overall, a full moon in Scorpio is a change to purge what needs to be purged to come out a-new. To feel the depths of the emotions that you have hidden from yourself and to actually feel them so you can let them go. A great day for a colon cleanse or doing some sort of colon hydrotherapy (as scorpio rules the bowels). What emotions are you holding onto, what resentments need to be released so that you can lighten your load? What shadows are being projected onto the ones around you for you to see within yourself? Good questions to ponder.
Mercury enters Taurus (May 2nd):
This transit will finally help to ground your thoughts and dialogue so you can actually find resolutions to moving forward. Your speech wont be so impulsive, in fact, you’ll likely be able to think with more peace and speak with more elegance.
Mars square Jupiter (May 5th):
There is an inner friction between our will/desire and our needs for growth. There will need to be an adjustment between who you are becoming as an individual and how that balances your growth amongst your family, home, and loved ones. The temptation is to act impulsively for your own wants, but how can you factor in your foundation as well? Both are essential for your growth. One way is selfishness, the other is self neglect — you can have both. Find a way.
Pluto goes retrograde (May 6th):
Our collective transformation goes inward all the way until October. There has been so much emphasis on global transformations regarding how we come together as a collective and change what we want changed. Now we will be focussing on our own individual transformation that is needed to project this collective uprising even further. What still is left in you that needs to be transformed? What parts of yourself are not being expressed authentically? What needs to be killed off for you to become more group focussed in terms of creating a better society? Where do you belong?
Sun sextiles Jupiter (May 10th):
This is a huge opportunity to focus on how to cultivate stability within your foundations. To bring peace and harmony to your space in a way that will help you to grow into who you want to be. Create the boundaries of the home you desire, cast away anything that is negative or at least address it. A great time to redecorate and create a space that you want to come home to everyday. This would be a beautiful day to make a large meal for your loved ones and have a gathering.
New Moon in Taurus (May 16th):
I will be doing a separate in depth post about this new moon and the aspects it makes that day. However, overall, a new moon in Taurus is the ultimate seed for what you want to cultivate for your body, values, finances, and relationships. Taurus is the abundant feminine, how can you become more abundant and nourished in your everyday life? How can you cultivate a more loving relationship with yourself? What daily ritual can you add to your life that will help you to come back to your own body and feel love within yourself? Some questions to ponder.
Health and Wellness
Taurus rules the thyroid, voice and hormonal regulation. There is more and more coming out about how our voice directly
impacts our genitals and hormonal health. How our voice is tied into our thyroid (which helps to regulate our hormones). Focus on your voice this month and make sure you are releasing what needs to be released. Singing for the sake of singing can do wonders in releasing stored energy in the throat chakra. Humming or chanting can be another suggestion. Or literally just stating what you need to say to someone.
Watch your eating this month, not in a calorie count way, but pay attention to how you connect with your body during meals. Try to integrate intuitive eating — where you are asking why you are craving what you are craving. Taurus loves food and a good meal, but it can be a sign of overeating to seek comfort and stability. If you are craving sweets, what sweetness can you add into your life? If you are craving salt, perhaps some more minerals in the diet could be of benefit.
A daily self care routine that helps connect you back to your bodily senses can be very beneficial this month to cultivate self love. An self oil massage, daily walk in nature, cooking a daily nutritious and nourishing meal, a nighttime beauty routine, even self pleasure– are all ways to connect back to your own body and give it the love it desires.
